The Passion in
Action Ministry to Nurture the Poor encourages our gardeners to
plant one more row of vegetables this spring. The extra
vegetables will be shared with others in our community. Last
year we shared vegetables with our community food pantry, Frontier
Estates, parents of the summer free lunch program at Garfield
school and within our congregation. So, please consider
planting one or two more rows or a couple of extra plants this
spring. Just imagine how so little will produce so much to
help others!
Once again, First UMC has been invited to assist with
the summer free lunch program at Garfield School, Monday through
Friday, June 2 - July 31. Two to three people are need to
volunteer each day at Garfield School from 11:15 - 12:45 to
help with sanitize hands, clean tables and, best of all, to have
an opportunity to meet some really great kids, parents and
grandparents. Sign up is available at the Welcome
Center.
Please visit with Becki if you have any
questions about either of these Passion In Action ministries or if
you recognize an unmet need within our church of community that you
would like to share or discuss further.
