Opportunities to Serve Our Church and Others

Check areas of ministry in which you would like to participate. Then provide information about yourself at the bottom of the form, and Submit.
	Wonderful Wednesday Cooking Crew - Help prepare meal – volunteers work from 2:00 p.m. to about 5:00 p.m.
	Wonderful Wednesday Serving Crew – Serve meal – 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
	Wonderful Wednesday Cleanup Crew – Clean up following meal -5:30 p.m. until finished.
	Tuesday Evening Cooking Crew - We also have a cooking crew that meets the second Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. to make casseroles for Wednesday meal. If you cannot help on a Wednesday, we would love to have you join us on Tuesday evening.
	Gospeltality Team - Act as a host for our church just as you would if you were hosting someone in your home. Serve on Sunday mornings or as called upon for special occasions.
	Technology Team - Presentation of the prepared slide show for Sunday morning worship.
	Office Volunteer Team - Assist church staff with various office tasks or fill in as receptionist for the church secretary when she is absent.
	Newsletter Team - Prepare the newsletter for mailing by helping with the assembling and sorting.
	Coffee and Cookies Hospitality Ministry - Serve coffee and cookies at 8:15 or 10:30 worship celebration on Sunday morning, or provide cookies for these services.
	Worship Leader - Assist the Pastor with Sunday morning worship leadership by giving words of welcome, reading scripture, and performing other duties as needed (i.e. announcements, special readings, helping with baptisms, etc.).
	Ministry to Nurture the Poor - Help supervise the summer lunch program at Garfield School, or lend financial assistance for elementary students with vision, dental, or hearing needs.
	Working Hands Ministry - Help others in our church family with yard work or minor home repairs when they are unable to do their own.
	United Methodist Women - Groups of women who meet to share fellowship, devotions, and mission opportunities.
	CareConnections - This is a team that contributes to the Caregiving Ministry of our church by making visits to shut-ins and hospital patients.
	Shut-In Communion Team - This team takes communion elements to individuals who cannot attend church. Communion is served monthly at Sterling House and three times a year to all of our shut-ins on a Sunday afternoon. You may be called on four times a year to help.
	Transportation Team - On occasion we have requests for transportation to doctor’s appointments or to and from church. This team helps provide rides.
	Bulletin Delivery Team - This team delivers bulletins to Sterling House of Abilene I and II on Friday afternoons each week.
	Food Ministry Team - This team gathers in our church kitchen periodically and prepares casseroles and fruit cups for the freezer. When a meal is needed for someone returning home from the hospital, a team member is called to pick up a casserole and fruit cups, heat the casserole, prepare something else to complete the meal, and deliver it.
	Prayer Partner Ministry Team - A ministry that teams prayer volunteers with those who request daily prayer.
	Baby Quilt Ministry Team - Make baby quilts to be given to new babies born in our congregation.
	Prayer Shawl Ministry Team - Make prayer shawls to send from our church to Kansas West Annual Conference.
